Glascott Symes will lead a tour to Co. Waterford visiting Curraghmore, Portlaw. The estate has an 800 year history in the de la Poer and Beresford families. It is probably the most intact great house with its collections and demesne in the country. We will have lunch at Curraghmore. Also included will be 18th century Clonegam Church located on a spectacular site overlooking the Suir valley. It contains a remarkable collection of funerary monuments to the Beresfords. In the afternoon we will visit Woodhouse Estate, Stradbally recently acquired and restored. An 18th century house of the Uniackes which passed to the Beresfords through marriage.
Meeting at Clayton Hotel, Simmonscourt Road, Ballsbridge.
