It is surrounded by spectacular ornamental gardens designed by Daniel Robertson who was also responsible for the Gardens at Powerscourt, Co. Wicklow. Rathaspick Manor, Edermine House which is a country house erected to a design exhibited (1840) by John Benjamin Keane, and Hyde Park House, designed by Richard Morrison in 1803-7 both representing an important component of the mid nineteenthcentury domestic built heritage
