An architectural and historical exploration of the compact yet splendid area bounded by Grafton St to the east and Great South George's Street to the west. We will find a district full of Georgian Splendour (and a few concealed Dutch Billies) as well as many gems from the Victorian and Edwardian period. We will take one former great private mansion, the "world's first shopping centre" and a handful of key public buildings, as well as ecclesiastical works like the former Saint Andrew's church and the Carmelite church on Clarendon Street. We'll also take the time to enjoy some smaller, more subtle details, such as vintage mosaics, old shop fronts and more. This tour is led by Arran Henderson of Dublin Decoded.
