The Irish Georgian Society is delighted to partner with Kerry County Council's Architectural Conservation Officer, Victoria McCarthy on the 'Kingdom of Skill' National Heritage Week project.

Five traditional building skills craftspeople (blacksmith, Thomas Allison; thatcher, Liam Broderick; lime practitioner, Hugh Dorrian; stained glass conservator, Glynn Palmer; and joiner Rafal Warszawski) were invited to make their own short video about their work in conserving Kerry's built heritage.

The videos also highlight the importance of grant aid provided by The Heritage Council's Irish Historic Towns' Initiative and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage's Built Heritage Investment Scheme, administered by Kerry County Council, in funding these conservation works.

To view the videos and gain an insight into the traditional methods and materials used to conserve Kerry's architectural heritage please go to Kerry County Council's Youtube channel.
