London Chapter St. Patrick's Dinner

Friday 14th of March, National Liberal Club, London SW1A 2HE

IGS London are again adopting last year's format and venue for this year’s St Patrick’s Day celebration. Guests will be joining the National Liberal Club’s Irish Circle at their magnificent club for dinner, combined with some appropriate entertainment. The evening will start with a drink of Guinness or wine, and an exhibition of Irish dancing, followed by a three course dinner with coffee and wine, interleaved with short readings of Irish poetry and prose.

The National Liberal Club was founded in the heyday of Gladstonian Liberalism in the 1880s. It has the largest clubhouse of any in the UK and is one of the best Victorian buildings in London, by Waterhouse. Visiting is an architectural treat in itself, and it has a renowned kitchen. Guests will meet in the atmospheric Smoking Room and move to the Lloyd George Room (formerly the Grill Room) for dinner. The club’s Irish Circle celebrates the life and culture of Ireland – its arts, history, economics and politics - but also likes to attract “anyone interested in having fun”.

The evening starts at 6.30pm and will finish at around 10.30pm. The club is at 1 Whitehall Place, London SW1A 2HE. The nearest tube is Embankment (4 minutes walk).Dress code: Jacket and tie for gentlemen, and broadly equivalent for ladies.

Tickets £93 (includes welcome drink, dinner, coffee and half a bottle of wine. Additional drinks available from bar).
