Wednesday 28th November - South City Tour

The South City Tour with Pat Murray returns with a visit to St Ann’s Church and the Royal Irish Academy on Dawson Street with Dr Peter Harbison. The parish of St Ann was created in 1707 at a time when the 18th century suburbs were beginning to envelop the site provided for the church by Sir Joshua Dawson. After St. Ann’s, members will visit the Royal Irish Academy which was founded in 1785, with the Earl of Charlemont as first president. Dr Harbison is a member of the Royal Irish Academy and its honorary

academic editor. He is author of many books including William Burton Conyngham and His Irish Circle of Antiquarian Artists published by Yale University Press in 2013. The group will then have lunch in Patrick Guilbaud’s. Places limited.
