Talk: Furnishing the Emerald Isle by James Peill

In his lecture Furnishing the Emerald Isle James Peill FSA, Bluemantle Pursuivant at the College of Arms, will look at Irish furniture that was made for particular patrons and houses in Ireland. James is an expert on the Irish country house and Irish furniture and co-authored Irish Furniture (Yale University Press, 2007) with the late Knight of Glin. Additional works include The Irish Country House (Vendome, 2010), and The English Country House (Vendome, 2013). Peill was also a director at Christie's where he was a specialist in the furniture department. Formerly the Curator of the Goodwood Collection his most recent book is Glorious Goodwood, a Biography of England's Greatest Sporting Estate (Constable, 2019).
