This tour will take in late-Georgian Lower Leeson Street, developed by the Leeson Milltown family, as well as Adelaide Road and Earlsfort Terrace, with at least two enjoyable diversions: one up Hatch Street and another up-and-down the short, but very beautiful, Harcourt Terrace.
Along our route we will explore the unexpected history of this area, stop to appreciate two of Ireland’s most beautiful student residences, recall some conservation battles of the 1960s to 1990s, enjoy some eccentric social and literary history, and celebrate Dublin’s only true, centrally-planned Regency Terrace.
Attendees will meet at 11:15am, outside Newman House, on St. Stephen’s Green South.
