The Iveagh Gardens are often described as Dublin’s hidden park, or best-kept secret. This tour will explore its lawns, trees and statues, and discuss a half-hidden, Gothic Revival boathouse. We will explore how the lawns were once splendid private gardens for Lord Clonmel (Copper-Faced Jack), then later for Lord Iveagh and how they were the setting for a spectacular 19th century International Exhibition of industry, manufacture and the arts. You can also expect one or two stories along the way. 11:15AM, outside the Unitarian Church on Saint Stephen’s Green WEST.
