2025 Conservation Grant Programme Open to Applicants

The Irish Georgian Society is inviting applications for its Conservation Grants Programme 2025 with submissions accepted until Wednesday 19th February 2025. A total of €45,000 will be available which will comprise €27,000 in grants from the Niall Smith Conservation Grants Fund and IGS London, €10,000 through the Homan Potterton Conservation Grant and €8,000 from the IGS Cork Chapter.
Structures of architectural interest from across the country are eligible for funding from IGS London while projects supported through the Cork Chapter must be based in either Cork, Kerry, Tipperary or Waterford. The Homan Potterton Conservation Grant is available only to Georgian buildings of architectural merit anywhere in the counties of Meath or Westmeath.

Since 2014 the Irish Georgian Society’s Conservation Grants Programme has supported over 90 conservation projects. These have included country houses, thatched cottages, townhouses, architectural follies, and churches with grants awarded for repairs to roofs, windows and rainwater goods, support for conservation plans and building appraisals, and for other essential conservation works.
In 2024, the Society pledged grants for the following projects:
IGS London
- Headford House, Kells, Co. Meath (window repairs) €1,000
- Ballintemple House, Garvagh, Co. Derry (roof repairs) €1,400
- Lambay Island, Co. Dublin (repairs to external doors & gates) €1,500
- Lord Annaly Monument, Holy Trinity Church, Tashinny, Co. Longford €2,000 (consolodation of sculpture base)
- Toberfeckin House, Co. Sligo (repairs for water ingress) €2,000
- Killyon Manor, Co. Meath (repairs roof) €2,500
- St Michael's Col Church, Pery Square, Limerick (parapet repairs) €2,500
- Clonalis House, Co. Roscommon (works to address for penetration) €2,500
- Fiddown Church, Co Kilkenny (repairs to roof) €2,500
- Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh, Co. Cork (underpinning of loggia) €3,000
- Kildrought House, Celbridge, Co. Kildare (repairs to the garden from windows) €3,000
- Annaghmore House, Co. Sligo (repairs to windows) €3,000
- Bantry House, Bantry, Co. Cork (roof repairs) €3,000
Homon Potterton Grants
- Kilsharven House, Bellewstown, Drogheda, Co Meath (windows repairs) €3,000
- Larchill Arcadian Garden (repair of gothic windows) €1,000
- Headfort House (sash windows) €3,000
- Killyon Manor, Co. Meath (repairs to ballroom) €3,000
Cork Chapter
-Ivy House, Listowel, Co. Kerry (fungal treatments) €1,000
-Myrtle Grove, Co. Cork (window repairs) €3,000
-Bantry House, Co. Cork (roof repairs and doors) €3,000
-Jamesbrook House, Co. Cork (repair of porch windows) €1,000
